The facts about Mustang Suspension in Australia

Ok, so youve noticed your car needs a subtle drop in ride height, or you want to stop the jiggly feeling whilst driving on what looks like a smooth bitumen road.

Well the truth is that the standard suspension in our cars is all setup for the US cement roads . These are much smoother than our comparatively lumpy bitumen roads let alone if there have been repairs, manhole covers, potholes etc.

To combat this and not end up in the same position after lowering your car it is vital to ensure that the correct combination of suspension components are used in order to improve the above incompatabilities.

Firstly, springs engineered for Aussie Bitumen roads are a must. Check the country where the springs have been designed and engineered first. Just because a particular set of springs has been made for your Make and Model does not guarantee their compliance with our particular road conditions.

There are a couple of other important things to know. Firstly and equally as important is the ability to wheel align the car to maximum all round benefit.

Part of the US design and geometry allows for a significant amount of front negative camber.

Once lowered the camber increases and this combines to create very severe tyre wear to the inner front tyres.

From the factory there is no front camber adjustment. To remedy this we install camber adjusting kits to the front.

This allows a precise and purposeful front and rear geometry to be achieved. Make sure your alignment is performed by a knowledgeable and specialist wheel aligner as this is the culmination point of your carefully added mods

Sway bars for flatter cornering are also available with infinite adjustments so the pitch and roll,  turn in and thus the stability of the car during cornering are vastly impoved.

For the track day fan there are quality coil over systems that combine with camber adjustment, ride height adjustment and geometry.
